A friendly, local event in East Lothian

Gosford is a privately-owned estate stretching between the East Lothian villages of Longniddry and Aberlady. The area contains 18th-Century Gosford House and its park in the centre, sections of farmland, and surrounding deciduous woodland. Although the event will stay away from the House itself, the parkland contains many interesting features such as ornamental ponds, ha-has, a mausoleum, a grotto, and an ex-POW camp.

Orienteers of all abilities are welcome to join us on the day when we will have a range of courses to suit everyone including beginners.

Courses

White 1.4km
For competitive 9 year olds and 10-11 year old beginners. Follows paths with a control at each choice point.

Yellow 1.6km
For competitive 10-11 year olds and 11-12 year old beginners.
Follows line features with controls after choice points.

Orange 3.5km
For competitive 11-13 year olds and beginner adults.
Controls near paths or line features.

Red 5.2km
For adults who prefer more running with a little navigating.
All controls near paths or line features with route choices along paths.

Green 4.5km
For experienced orienteers.
Challenging navigation including route choice and rougher terrain away from paths.

We would generally encourage families to split up into pairs!

Junior second course

Fees are listed for BOF Members / SOA Members / non-members

Juniors are under 21 on 31st December. If you are entering as a pair and one of the runners is a junior please use their year of birth to benefit from the reduced rate.
