Danson Park Come and Try It

Saturday 3rd July

4 Courses of varying lengths to suit all ages in this attractive parkland in a mainly open setting with small areas of forest and a large central lake

Suitable for families and individuals new to orienteering. A longer run is available, primarily for those with prior orienteering experience

Full guidance will be available, either face to face if permitted or otherwise through sharing videos in advance to entrants.

Yellow 2.6km
Controls (checkpoints) are very easy to find, mostly on paths, ideal for younger children and complete beginners.

Orange 3.2km
Controls are on or near paths with some route choice. Good for those wanting to get away from the paths

Light Green 4.4km
For those looking for a longer run than Orange

Blue 6.6km
Not difficult technically but suitable for experienced orienteers and others wanting a long run. Distance measured in straight lines between controls; actual distance run will be greater.

Parking
Car Parking will be in Danson Park car park, entrance off Danson Road, Bexleyheath Nearest postcode is DA6 8HL There is a £3 car park charge, payable by card only.

Safety
You must not attend if you or a member of your household has COVID-19 symptoms, or if you have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace or if you are required to quarantine after returning from overseas

You must adhere to the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.

Event centre
The event centre including Download is situated just south of the playground. The playground is next to the car park. Please look for the DFOK banner.

There are toilets in the playground and a kiosk where you can buy drinks and snacks.

Map
The map is 1: 5,000 for all courses printed on waterproof paper.
