Penalties: minus 10 points for every minute or part minute over the hour. Bonus: 5 points for every complete minute under the hour ( so long as all 3 Map Memory controls have been collected)

Map
1:5,000 on A3 waterproof paper, 5m contours.
Terrain - Typical Urban area - with an open area Nature Park on a hill! Some grassy areas but mostly tracks and roads.
Score course - 27 controls plus 3 Map Memory controls
One hour Score event - 27 controls to collect plus - there will be a “Map memory” control at each of 3x 30 pointers for those planning on collecting all the controls. Can still get 500 points but can only get bonus points if the Map Memory controls are collected immediately after the 30 pointers (there are 5 bonus points for every minute under the hour if you have these extra controls)
Control Descriptions will not be printed on map but can be collected at the Start . N.B. Juniors under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult (over 18). Punching start about a 200m walk away from the Pub. Hired SI dibbers can be picked up at Download in the marquee behind the Pub. Turn up for your allocated slot time, ready to run; those with their own SI Dibber can go straight to the Start; otherwise collect your Dibber and go to the Start.
Sign in with the Start marshal & go! Everyone must report to Download afterwards.
Conduct
Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.
Acting as an ambassador of the sport of orienteering at all times and considering how your actions may appear in the eyes of landowners or members of the public;
Times
Arrival times: - 18.00 onwards - sign in with the Start marshal. There is no Registration as such. The Planner will be at the Start you have any queries.
Hired dibbers will be in the Pub
Starts: - 18.00 to 18.45. Control Descriptions will be available at the Start. Please do not crowd around the Start control - Punch the Start, take a map and depart.
Course closes: - promptly at 19.45 please. Control collectors - come to the Planner by Download at 19.30 - 19.45, please.
Facilities
Toilets will be available in the Pub ; Limited First Aid only - be prepared to self administer. No water at the event, so please bring your own. The Harvester has drinks and their usual menu. On the night, please order your food when you are ready.
Safety
All competitors MUST wear hi-viz tops & have sufficient lights to complete their course (must take a spare!). A whistle is advisable. This is a Score event with 27 controls plus 3 Map Memory controls - the points values are printed on the map. Under 16 year olds MUST be accompanied by an adult .
Please note the A345 Salisbury road bordering the Harvester is very fast and busy
Dogs
Dogs are not allowed on the Urban course

SIAC enabled controls with gripples.
SI hire - non-SIAC
On the Course
This is not a touch free event as such - but the SI controls are SIAC enabled. Please punch the Start and Finish controls. Be aware of pedestrians around the area and cars driving around the houses - the roads and pavements are narrow.
Finish and Download
After punching at the Finish, please make your way to Download in the Pub
When you get to Download, place your dibber into the Download unit on the table. Take your splits print and drop your hired dibber into the box provided if you have hired one. Have a safe journey home.
Results
Results and Routegadget will be available via Racesignup and later on the Club website, hopefully by late Monday or Tuesday.
Risk
Orienteering is an adventure sport; you are responsible for your own safety at the event and must not do anything that puts yourself or others at unnecessary risk.
