The Course
The course is a single loop of approximately 5km (not officially measured). This is a different route to parkrun. It uses park paths and trails and will be fully signed with marshals at key locations. Maps and GPX files will be shared in advance.
How the Event Works
Solo runners and relay teams start together at 9:00am. You may rest between loops and stop whenever you choose. Teams may have only one runner on the course at any time and share a single team name and QR code throughout the event.
Start and Finish
The start and finish are at the same location with separate signed gates. Before each lap, runners must write the name of the person starting the lap on the event board (solo runners tick instead). This ensures organisers know who is on the course at all times.
Timing and Results
Only lap finish times are recorded. After each lap, runners must immediately report to the finish recording table and provide their QR code. Results will show individual lap finish times per team (not individual). Rest time is included between laps (finish-to-finish timing). This event is NOT chip-timed.
Retirement
Runners or teams may retire at any time but must notify the finish team so the board can be updated for safety. The final lap must start by 1:00pm.
Medals and Prizes
All runners completing at least one loop will receive a bespoke medal. League tables will be produced for solo runners, teams of two, and teams of three to four. Small prizes will be awarded to the highest loop total in each category.
Event Shelter and Belongings
An event shelter will be available near the start/finish area for bags, spare clothing, food, and drinks. All items are left entirely at your own risk. The shelter is not supervised, and valuables should not be left there.
Food, Drink and Facilities
Low-cost food and drink will be available for purchase inside Dynamo House during the event. Toilets are also located inside Dynamo House café, and queues may form at busy times. Runners should still bring sufficient personal hydration and nutrition, particularly for multiple loops.
Parking
Please check parking instructions carefully when they are issued. Runners are strongly encouraged not to use the main car park near the start/finish area. Alternative parking options nearby are being explored and will be communicated before race day.
First Aid
Two qualified first aiders will be on site throughout the event, and an AED will be available at the event base.
Profits
This event has been organised by Karen Slade to raise funds for her Sydney Marathon charity place for Alzheimer’s Research UK. After operating costs are covered, all profits will be donated.
Final Notes
This is a supportive, inclusive event focused on community and personal challenge. Please be respectful of other park users, volunteers, and fellow runners at all times.
