This is a limited entry (50 total) over 3 courses Light Green, Blue or Score; based at Anderwood car park and using the Blackwater stream map of runnable deciduous woodand South of Lyndhurst Rd.

Technical difficulty = 4 whereby a course is based on the skills needed to successfully complete it.
• Navigate long legs on a rough compass bearing to a collecting feature.
• Fine orienteering on short legs using an accurate compass bearing.
• Navigate for short distances using simple contour features – hills, ridges, large reentrants and spurs.

60 minutes to visit as many controls as you can. You lose 10 points per full and/or part minute over the hour. You gain 5 points per minute and/or part minute under 60 minutes BUT only if you have visited all the controls on your map.

Event Information

Venue
Anderwood Car Park, Burley, BH24 4HS w3w: standing.hound.neatly or by Google Maps

Terrain
The courses take part in the mainly deciduous woodland of Burley New, Dames Slough and Burley Old Inclosures, through which runs the Blackwater stream flanked by some areas of rough open land.

There are a number of uncrossable mires which are OOB and marked by being surrounded by a red line. They are OOB for nature conservation reasons and are physically not passable anyway . Anyone seen crossing one of these mires may be DSQ. There are also other areas of the heath, including the quarry marked OOB by red hashing, so please do not enter these areas.

Root stocks Only the more significant ones (>1.5m) have been mapped and are represented as green crosses.
Hides are mapped with a black cross.

Timing
Sport Ident using SIAC enabled controls. All competitors must physically dib at both the start and finish

Registration open from 10:30 for hire card collection (SI Card5 only) and any last minute changes to entry details.

Start Times
Starts from 11:00 to 12 noon. There are no allocated start times so just go to the start when you are ready. The Start is about 100m from registration

Facilities
There will be no toilet facilities at the event . The nearest public loos are at Burley in the car park behind the Queens Head, which along with thw White Buck are proabably the nearest pubs.

Dogs
Dogs are allowed if kept on a lead. Any mess created by your dog must be picked up and removed from the site.

In the event of cancellation a message will be placed on the Wessex Orienteering Club’s web site and an email sent via Race Signup to all entrants,

If there is a cancellation Wessex Orienteering Club reserves the right to retain a fraction of the entry fees to cover expenses already committed
