This is a perfect venue that has everything you would want for a wonderfully varied 3.3km route.

There is real history here too. The property next door is called Mazamboni Farm and was once the home of Sir Henry Stanley, the explorer of “Dr Livingston, I presume” fame. The stream that runs from this property and through our route is actually called Congo Stream. We are not making this up!!

There is a large open field where the event HQ will be based allowing plenty of room for teams and supporters to gather during the event.

We are repeating the 4 hour format offering the chance to run solo, as a pair or in a team of 4. There will also be the option for kids to run a single lap of the course. You can just run a couple of laps if you wish or for the whole 4 hours - the choice is yours!

The Format

The course loop is 3.3km The route starts on a level grassy camping ground that gives good visibility for change-overs and support. Most of the route is in some really wonderful mature mixed woods though. As you might have guessed the stream will come into play, as will the marshes and boggy bits that run along the lower areas. There are hills here too and also a really cool old trench system that is like running through a sunken maze.

Congo Stream is classic Brutal and ideal for this event. There will be no Lions or Crocodiles, just maybe the odd mosquito.

The challenge is to complete as many laps as you can within 4 hours. You can do this either on your own, as a pair or a team of 3 or 4. The pairs and teams will hand over in between each lap.

The kids option will allow them to run a single lap at the start of the event. They can either run by themselves or with an adult taking part. Anyone under 11 MUST be accompanied by an adult throughout the course.

There will be on site catering with hot and cold food.
