Claro MapRunPlus - Spofforth Castle

MapRunPlus - choose your own adventure - score events for all using simple orienteering or Ordnance Survey maps
Claro Orienteering Club present a new type of event - MapRunPlus - a score event using a simple orienteering map or an Ordnance Survey map and the MapRun app downloaded to your smartphone or sports watch..
Choose the length of your course - 60 mins, 90 mins or 120 mins.
Take part on your own, in pairs or family groups. Please note that as the areas use streets and roads under 16's must be part of a family group or paired with an adult over 16.
These events are ideal for beginners and experienced orienteers alike. Help is always available before the start for newcomers, either to orienteering or using the app.
This week explore the beautiful lower Crimple valley, starting and finishing in the grounds of Spofforth Castle, reputedly where Magna Carta was drawn up. Explore ancient footpaths, old railway lines, and the fields and meadows towards the river after which Crimplene was named.
