The first in a series of six evening events orienteering in lovely local woods and parks .

Small events with a big heart.

Claro Orienteers invite you to the first of our summer evening events Hell Wath, Ripon.

There will be a Beginners score course of 2k and a 45 min Snooker O score course with 8 reds and 6 colours. Visit a red control, then a colour, then a red, then a colour etc until the final sequence of colours Yellow to Black which can be commenced at any time. This is not as complicated as it sounds and will be explained on the night!

Parking and assembly will be at Ripon Panthers football pavilion on Hell Wath Lane, Ripon, HG4 2SE.

Beginners course starts 18.15 to 19.00;
Snooker O mass start at 18.30 but later starts available by negotiation with the organiser, David Day.

The Beginners course does not leave the Hell Wath nature reserve; the Snooker O has some controls in the adjacent housing estate where there may be a little traffic.

Registration opens at 18:00
Courses close at 19:30.
Please choose an earlier start time if you think you may not finish before 19:30.

Courses

Some events will have different courses (eg SnookO). Enter the course you would normally run and the organiser will add you to appropriate course.

Long Experienced
Entered: 1
A longer course with physical and navigational challenges for more experienced orienteers who would like a longer distance.

Short Experienced
Entered: 1
A shorter, less physical course, suitable for more experienced orienteers with more navigational challenges.

Long Beginner
Entered: 0
A longer easier course, mainly on paths but using some other line features such as walls or fences. Suitable for older beginners and experienced runners who would like the extra distance.

Short Beginner
Entered: 0
An easy course, mainly on paths, and suitable for younger beginners

Senior: £6.00
Senior Non-BO Member Supplement: £1.00
Senior Chip hire: £1.00
Junior: £2.00
Junior Chip hire: £0.50

Juniors are under 25 on 31st December.

Please note if hiring a dibber a fee of £30 will be charged for lost dibbers.

Family Discount
Families only pay for each adult and the first child. Use the discount code family-junior for your second and subsequent juniors to qualify.

Results
These will be posted on the Claro website www.claro-orienteering.org.uk. When entering our events your name may appear in the results section of this website or in newspaper reports.
Photography
In accordance with the British Orienteering Policy Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults, the organiser of this event requires that any person wishing to engage in any video, zoom or close range photography should register their details with the organiser before carrying out any such photography. The organiser reserves the right to decline entry to any person unable to meet or abide by the organiser's conditions.
