Age Groups
Under 11 Born after 01/09/14 and 5 years old or older on the day. Can run Junior Course only; those under 7 should be accompanied by an adult.
Under 13 01/09/12 – 31/08/14 Junior or Short Course only.
Under 15 01/09/10 – 31/08/12. Junior or Short Courses only
Under 17 01/09/08 – 31/08/10. Junior, Short or Medium Courses only.
Under 20 01/09/05 – 31/08/08. Can run any course.
Senior born on or before 31/08/05. Can run any course.
Masters aged 40+ on the day of the event. 2 Categories of Masters, over 40 and over 65 on the day. Can run any course, but please note Prize eligibility criteria.
Race Route Signage
The race route will be marked with pink flags and with direction arrows. Marker flags for the Junior (2km) route will be removed prior to the time of the U13 and above race laps opening.
The junction of the route to the finish and the route to further laps will be marked and marshalled.
Start and Finish Procedure
For the Junior Race a head count will be taken before the start after which competitors will start together, complete a 2km course, and finish in the designated Finish Funnel. At the Finish Funnel, each competitor will be given a numbered token (1 for First, 2 for Second etc) which they must take to the Stats tent for their name and position to be recorded, once recorded, tokens will be retained at the Stats tent.
For the Short, Medium and Long Races, a head count for each race distance will be taken before the start, after which all competitors will start together. Once they have completed the appropriate number of 3km laps, they will enter their designated Finish Funnel ie Short, Medium or Long. At the Finish Funnel, each competitor will be given a numbered token (1 for First, 2 for Second etc) which they must take to the Stats tent for their name and position to be recorded, tokens will be retained in the Stats tent.
In order to identify which course competitors have completed, those on the Short Course will receive Yellow tokens, those on the Medium Course will receive Blue tokens and those completing the Long Course will receive Red tokens.
Please note that the run in to the Junior Finish will cross the area of the Start and give due consideration to our young runners if they take more than 30 minutes.
Administration
Please note that the Start and Finish areas are approximately 800m from Whitekirk Hill Car Park. The route to the Start will be marked with strips of red/white tape.
Car Parking: Whitekirk Hill has good parking, however please park considerately.
Toilets: Toilet facilities are available in the Whitekirk Hill complex
Catering: The Orangery in the Whitekirk Hil complex provides a great variety of food and drink, please use it after the event, however please show due consideration to other users by not wearing muddy shoes and kit.
Marshals and Assistants: Assistance to Marshal and help time the event from anyone not running would be very much appreciated. Please let the organiser know if you can help by emailing: jameslnwilson@aol.com

Prizes
Prize Distribution
Prizes will be provided as shown below. If a Masters Woman over 40 chooses to complete the Long Course, she may be eligible for a Senior Women prize. Masters Men may ‘run up’ an age category and could be eligible for two prizes ie they could win 3rd Senior M as well as 1st Masters >40M.

1st, 2nd, 3rd Senior Men and 1st, 2nd, 3rd Senior Women
Masters Long Course 9km
1st, 2nd, 3rd Masters Men (over 40 but under 65)
Masters Medium Course 6km
1st, 2nd, 3rd Masters Men over 65; 1st, 2nd, 3rd Masters Women over 40 but under 65; and 1st, 2nd, 3rd Masters Women over 65.
*The organisers reserve the right not to award prizes if there are less than 4 runners in the relevant age category.
