Winter Lamp O series of score events
How many controls can you find in 45 minutes? Maps are 1:7500 and there will be 30 lamp posts to find. There will be a mass start at 1830 and you will need to be back by 1915. Points for each lamp post found, penalties if you are late back! This will appeal to orienteers and runners looking for a bit of variety alike.
Meet at the given location at around 6-15 pm for briefing and map distribution. We will issue control cards if you don't have Map Run installed on your phone or watch. Time for post run analysis when finished.

Event 4. 09th Dec 2026 - Walnut Tree, Heworth, York, YO31 1AN
Don't forget your headtorch! And if you are using MapRun ensure your device (watch or phone) is fully charged! If you are old school, make sure you have a working pen!
Using Maprun: You will need Maprun version 7.9.0 or later. It can be used with a smartphone alone, or in conjunction with most Garmin and Apple watches. The app enables GPS based orienteering without the need for physical controls. It’s fun! It is available via the usual sources for Android and Iphones apps.

£3 Seniors, £1 Juniors per event. Payment on Race Sign Up. Payment on the day accepted but please book in advance.
