Distances measured in straight line between controls. The optimal route will be longer so you will run further!
Other formats may be used from time to time to suit the area
Timing
Start at times between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
Competitors must report to the finish by 9pm

Open Orienteering style map commonly at scale 1:10000 or 1:7500
Controls are fire hydrants or other street furniture.
This series will be using the latest version of the MapRun software, to enable use of features and scoring that have been introduced. Therefore, if you are not using the latest version of the software, please update to ensure that there are no issues when it comes to the event.
Printed maps will be provided at the start.
You can still run without using Maprun but note that it is slower. Timing will be manual. Please bring pen or pencil to record the lower number on the hydrant.
Terrain will be a mixture of urban streets, parks and woodland, footpaths and trails. Please wear suitable footwear.
Newcomers welcome. Help and guidance provided.
Safety
Participation is at your own risk. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
Bring clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather conditions.
As with any street orienteering participants will be required to cross roads and you are asked to take due care and attention at all times. High visibility clothing is strongly recommended.
There may be dog walkers, cyclists or residents on pavements and footpaths – be aware and give them priority.
