Car Sharing available

A family-orientated event for World Orienteering Week, which this year incorporates the junior Yvette Baker Trophy competition.

This year's WOW orienteering event will once again take place on Farley Heath, a pretty area of mostly heathland and coniferous forest, which extends into Blackheath. There is a large network of paths. The event is especially targeted at families and juniors, including hosting the South East heat of the Yvette Baker Trophy. There will be Yellow, Orange, Light Green and two Green courses, one Green course designated solely for Yvette Baker Trophy competitors and the other open to all.

The Final Details are available on the GO website: click here

To add to the fun we hope to have the maze available, a "find the roman centurion competition" and also a cake stall.

Car parking will be at the Roman Temple Car Park. This is on the small side, so we encourage competitors to share transport.

Start times are:
Early (from 10:00 to 10:45ish)
Middle (from 10:35 to 11:20ish)
Late (from 11:15 to 12pm)

Start times (to the minute) will be allocated in accordance with the YBT rules and published here a few days before the event.

Club captains needed to declare for YBT by 3 May.

On your course
There are no road crossings.
The terrain is undulating with a mix of sandy heathland and managed forest. The bracken is still low in most areas, but is beginning to grow fast as are areas of bramble. As far as possible the courses avoid the worst of this.
There are (a very few) small sections of ruined wire fence on the ground between and within some of the forest areas – take care.
Beware of rabbit holes in the sandy heathland areas!
