This is the CLYDE Spring Evening Event at Knock Mountain near Kilmacolm, a new area for orienteering.

There are 3 courses: Long; Medium; and Short. The Short course is suitable for beginners. Beginners can go in pairs or family groups.

The event will have full SI timing.

Location: Finlaystone Road, Kilmacolm PA13 4SD

Parking is along a forestry track through a gate which will be manned.

Terrain: A new area for orienteering consisting of three different types of terrain; detailed open moorland with scattered trees and gorse, scattered mature deciduous woodland and commercial conifer plantations.

Map Notes: The gorse on the open moorland is quite extensive but only the major areas of bushes have been mapped. Map scale 1:10,000. Map funded by Renfrewshire Council.

Registration and map uplift between 6:15pm > 6:45pm.
It is the individual's choice whether to look at the course beforehand or not.
Starts informal between 6:30pm > 7pm.
Courses close at 8pm.


The event will use SI units and will be timed. An SI Dibber is required and can be hired through the entry form.
