Event Information

Introduction
The event will form part of the HAVOC Mid-Week Twilight League. There will be three events, each with a specific score format. Each event will have one course, with two time limits - Long (60 mins) and Short (40 mins). Points will be awarded for each control visited (specific course rules may apply on different events), and then adjusted using an age/gender handicap system. Bonus points for running on the night compared to Anytime. Full results will be emailed via RaceSignUp and published on the HAVOC website.

Participation is at your own risk. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Bring clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather conditions. As with any street orienteering you are required to cross roads and you are asked to take due care and attention at all times. High visibility clothing is strongly recommended. There may be dog walkers, cyclists or residents on pavements and footpaths – be aware and give them priority. Some roads do not have pavements so take extra care. As this event will take place in the twilight, a head torch or similar may be required if you are starting later in the start window.

Course Info
One score course.
Two time limits - Long (60 mins), Short (40 mins)

Controls are categorised as Reds (10 points) or Colours (20 to 70 points). Scoring as per snooker, so Red, Colour, Red, Colour... then Yellow, Green, Brown, Blue, Pink, Black. For the short course three reds (and a colour following) are required before moving onto the colour sequence. For the long course five reds (and a colour following) are required. A red can only be used once in the course, the colours can be used multiple times. You do not have to finish the full sequence of red, colour, red colour..., colours, but can return to the finish at any time to get back within the time limit. Your score will be taken at the point you took your last control (subject to any time penalties). Controls taken out of sequence will not count. You can only move on to the colour sequence once the required number of reds (and a colour following) have been visited.

Further details on the scoring, with examples will be sent to the email address for competitors before the event.

Most controls will be fire hydrant H plates (some may be homemade), or other street furniture. If the MapRun app does not correctly record your visit to a control, for the fire hydrant signs you need to record the lower number, for other street furniture the map will make the details required clear.
