Course Info
This event is a Line/Spiral hybrid! There is a set line from start to finish taking in a number of base controls. You must visit each of those, in order, to complete the course. As you may calculate that you can finish the course before the time limit, you may elect to go for additional controls. These are in the form of spirals at some of the controls. The first control in the spiral is only eligible after the base control has been visited, the second control in the spiral after the first has been visited, and the third control on the spiral after the second has been visited. You can choose to visit just the base, the base and the first spiral control, the base, the first and the second spiral controls or the base, the first, second and third spiral controls (in order). There are spirals at some of the line controls, mostly with three additional spiral controls (one with two).
The event is a time based event, so you have 60 mins (Long) or 40 mins (Short) to complete the line, and any additional spiral controls you choose. You will lose points for every minute or part minute over the time limit you finish. The leaderboard is calculated by number of controls, followed by time.
Most controls will be fire hydrant H plates, or other street furniture. If the MapRun app does not correctly record your visit to a control, but you are sure you are in the right place, continue on to your next control, and GPS tracks will be used following the event to ascertain that you were in the correct location.
