WEATHER UPDATE
The SOC Hinchelsea event will being going ahead. However, due to the combination of high winds and rain increasing the risk of hypothermia please dress appropriately and bring a cagoule as they might be made mandatory on the day.
There is some tree cover around the carpark. Please take care here and be aware that parking is at your own risk.
Under 16s - Road Crossing
Under 16s, please make yourself known to the manned road crossing, on your way out and back across the crossing. This way we can keep track of who is still out and who back across.

The car park and event centre are at the Wilverley Inclosure Car park.

Trains run from Southampton Central and Bournemouth to Sway station which is 2.5 miles from the car park.
We are sharing the car park with the general public and space may be a bit tight. Please park only in the spaces provided. Do not park on the verges or on the sides of the entrance roads.
Please note this is a busy car park. Please take care when walking through it.
Download will be in the Carpark. Near to the entrance off Burley Road.

Map and Terrain
1:10,000 map on A4 waterproof paper, 5m contours.
Large open area with an area of runnable woodland. There are marshes and a number of out of bounds areas.
Please be aware that in some areas of the map the vegetation is overgrown. Controls will be placed so they are as visible as possible in these areas.
Facilities
There is a permanent toilet at the North-Eastern end of the car park.
Road Crossings
The Orange, Short Green, Green and Blue courses all have a taped and timed out road crossing (used twice). You will have 2 minutes to cross in each direction. Please take your time crossing and check for cars!

Use of the New Forest
The area is used by the general public for leisure, dog walking and cycling, please be aware and courteous to other forest users.
The area is frequented by ponies, deer and livestock and the usual precautions to avoid infection apply. Please avoid disturbing or frightening the livestock as best you can. Be aware of the risk of kicks and bites.
Hazards
Please be aware of the risk of ticks and Lyme disease.
Please do not pick up litter or unidentified objects in the competition area.
A comprehensive risk assessment has been carried out by the organiser and will be available to read at the event. Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event
Dogs
Dogs are allowed in the event centre. They must be kept under control at all times in the car park due to the number of people and vehicles in the area.
Dogs are allowed on the courses. Dogs must be kept under control at all times. Please do not run with more than one dog and give priority to other runners at control sites. Dog owners are liable and responsible for any situations involving their dog.
