General Rules
We trust all competitors are familiar with TrailO rules and in particular must not leave the path to get a better look of the terrain. if you are in doubt speak to an official. We hope you enjoy the competition.
Registration Day 1
you will be given 2 control cards, a location map and one punch. please return the punch at the finish of the sprint. The sprint card you fold in half to record the punch on each half.
Registration Day 2
you will be given one control card which you fold in half to record the punch mark, and one punch which you hand in at the finish.

Two race scores added for overall winner. tie break tempo time. You choose which race to do first. Please take great care not to wander into the competition area.
RACE 1: sprint A or Z course. 12 locations, 400m length. Number correct then fastest time produces winner. viewing points marked on ground but not on map. Chalk lines on ground indicate no entry. The red and white tape from the viewing points to the kite.
RACE 2: Three TempO stations. There will be 4 tasks with 6 kites to view. Its either one of them or none. The map pack are loose in order. When you sit down you will be shown the 6 kites and then the time starts immediately. Your answers will be written on your card and also sent electronically back to the computer. Please move swiftly away and do not discuss with others. Wait at holding area until called up. locations 2 and 3 have the same holding area.

At registration you will be given control card and punch. Follow public signs to park entrance through tunnels. The start will be before you go in. After you have finished and done the time controls follow southern marked path back to assembly.
There is one pre-o course roughly 1km long with 22 controls plus 1 time control with 3 problems. No entry routes are marked on the map by a purple line but not on the ground, please do not cross during competition. Tape may be used to show which group of kites are applicable.
Remember at the time controls there are no Z locations. At the time controls you hand in your control card and you will be given the map tasks and shown the 6 kites and then the time will immediately start. Afterwards you will be given back your card to take to download near the windmill. Please move swiftly away and do not discuss with others. Follow the southern path back to assembly.

zero tolerance
for a kite to be wrong its location must be at least 4m away from the correct location and any other kite.

Parking
parking is limited on day 1. if full, park on the surrounding streets. only enter park on official route. do not wander through park.
on day 2 do not park on upper car park, as route to event centre is through competition area. There is plenty of parking on foreshore with wonderful views of the bridge.
Prizes
There is only one class and course. There is a prize for the winner each day donated by the day 2 planner.
Travel
Please car share wherever possible. You can sign up to the Car Sharing scheme - login to the event on Racesignup to join.
Facilities
Toilets available including disabled at the event centre. on day 1 the leisure centre closes 1500. snacks can be obtained from the machine.
there is a cafe in the grounds but it is in the competition area so cannot be visited until after course close at 1500. they have toilets including disabled.
Solution maps
Solution maps will be available after all competitors finish. If you are unable to collect them they will be emailed to you. On day 1 separate maps for sprint and tempo. day 2 all on one map.
Complaints
if you are unhappy with your result please speak to the controller of your exercise or Peter Roberts who will investigate further. We have taken great care to get things right. Its not a championship just a local event standard.
