Forestry England has given us permission to park within the woods, opening access to the beautiful, remote and rarely used northern end of Kings Wood. Expect fast tracks, runnable beech woodland and plenty of depressions and other earth-based features. This will be our last event at Kings Wood for a while, so make the most of this chance to run in one of Kent’s best orienteering areas.
Online advance registration only. 60 minute Score course.
Parking will be on the Forest Tracks – about a mile drive deep into the woods. Access to the wood is via marshalled gate next to Kings Wood small car park - TN25 4AP or w3w///giggled.revealing.fussy, then follow the signs to the parking areas. The small car park is off White Hill road, 700m East of main car park.
The gate will be closed at 7:15pm – please make sure you arrive by then. Please call organisers if you have any issues en route.
Apres-O & prizegiving: At The Spices of Bengal, Charing Hill (https://www.spiceofbengalcharinghill.co.uk/ ). Please let me know if you are staying for food via racesignup. Have a look at their menu ahead of time and then pre-order your food before the start of the race.
If you are new to Orienteering and would like some additional help before attending an event, please check the appropriate box on the entry form and the event organiser will be in touch. There are also some helpful youtube introductory videos to watch. One by a nearby London club
Newcomer Guide and another from a Manchester based club
