Mill Lawn car park, about 1500m of the pub with a walk along the lanes but is of course now subject to New Forest car parking charges, starting at £1.50 for 1 hour. You can park for free in the pub car park after 18:00. Care must be taken when crossing the road outside the pub. The Finish will not be manned.

The SI controls will be in contactless mode except for the start and finish ones that must be physically punched.

Printed Score showing splits will be provided at download.
Results will be available on-line later on the same night.

The Queen's Head may appear to have a separate car park but it is now effectively just a part of the larger Pay and Display
council car park next door, except that it does not have the 2.1m height restriction. This costs about 1.55p per hour
only until 18.00. Use
this link for latest exact details. Can't make promises on their behalf but it may be possible to redeem your car parking charge at the bar when you order food.
If you do park at the pub, or in the adjacent public car park, cross the road in front of the pub and walk up the hill on the left hand side cross to the NE corner of the cricket ground, through a few trees where you will find
Church Lane. Coninue East along Beechwood Lane to Mill Lane then go North, downhill to
Mill Lawn car park .
Map/Terrain
The map is 1:10000, A3, and consists of a combined sections from the South part of Blackwater and North part of Bisterne Close. The latter has been selectively updated in 2025. Hopefully, this will not cause too much concern for competitors. The combined area consists of woodland, heath and lawns around Bisterne Close.
Full leg cover is recommended as the bracken etc. will still be quite prominent in places. Check for ticks afterwards!
Course and Score Information
60 minute Score (Beginners will be given advice as to which controls to find)
You have 60 minutes from the Start to Finish via as many of the 30 controls as you can (total value 600 points). Both points and control codes will be shown on the map.
You gain points for each control visited but you lose 10 points per minute – or part minute over the hour.
Points per control may vary from 10 to 30 points as described above, so check your map and plan your route before you start.
Bonus points (10 per minute under the hour) are available but ONLY if you manage to visit every control.
Food Options if you want to eat after the event, the pub would appreciate knowing in advance what you would like. Here's a
link to the Queen's Head menu
There is a question on the entry form for you to indicate your food choice(s) when signing up, ideally
before September 5th. No commitment is implied and you can change your choice, preferably before the 5th Sept.
