The competition is on the Burley West map, last used for a November Classic in 2015. The area is a mix of ancient and managed woodland and open heathland. The map is from a new and full survey carried out this year.

Getting to the event
Public Transport: Brockenhurst Railway Station is eight miles from the event centre. There are hourly trains from London and Bournemouth. We will proactively seek to match those arriving at Brockenhurst with drivers offering a lift through the Racesignup Car Share Scheme. If you are travelling by train and arriving at Brockenhurst, please join the Car Share Scheme as a passenger using the postcode SO42. There is a 6.5 mile cycle between the station and the event.
Public transport update: Please note that engineering works planned for the day mean that a bus replacement service will be in operation between Bournemouth/Poole and Brockenhurst. The service between Southampton Central and Brockenhurst is not affected by these plans. See National Rail Information page for details.
Driving: The event centre and parking are at Burley Park, on Chapel Lane near the Queens Head Pub.
Parking: All cars are to be parked at the event centre. There is a £4 charge for parking which we ask that you pay when you enter the event.
Car Share: You can sign up to the Car Share on Racesignup. Please consider this if you have available space in your car. We will be proactively matching drivers to passengers.

The finish and clothing dump is 1.5km from the event centre along a narrow lane. The start is a further 500m on. Please allow for a walk of at least 20 minutes to get to the start.

Start Times
You will be able to select your preferred start time as part of the entry process. In the lead up to the event we will review all start times and may need to make small adjustments. Once finalised, start times will be displayed on Racesignup and sent to you with the Final Details.

Selecting your class
The November Classic is an age class competition. Please enter the class you want to compete in.

To be competitive you need to select the Class that matches your British Orienteering age category OR you can run up and select a lower Age Class for seniors, a higher Age Class for juniors.

If you would like to run down please select the Colour class of your choice.

UKOL Points will only be awarded to those competing in the Age Class that matches their BO age category - it is not permitted to run up and score points. However, juniors in classes M/W14 and below are permitted to ‘run up’ and score points in the MW16 class.

If you are new to orienteering, our novice classes for juniors are White (short) and Yellow (long). For senior novices we recommend Orange (short) or Long Orange (long).

Dogs
Dogs are allowed in the event centre and must be kept under control at all times due to the number of people and vehicles in the area.

Dogs are not allowed on the courses.

Please be aware of the New Forest Dog Walking Code
