Timing, Start/Finish and Race Information
Contactless electronic timing enabled for the event, (SIAC), although a basic timing dibber can also be used, (basic timing devices provided free of charge if you don't have one). Punching Start & Finish.

Start times: 17:35 – 18:35. Courses close 20:05.

Course 1 is 1:10,000, Courses 2 & 3 are 1:7,500, all with 5m contours.

The Start is a 1.1km walk from the Event Centre/Download. The Finish is less than 300m from the Event Centre/Download. Routes will be taped.

Safety:
Traffic in Knole Park:
There is likely to be little traffic at that time of night, any vehicles should be moving slowly on tarmac tracks only with headlights on, so highly visible from a distance.

Members of the public:
There may be some people running, walking or cycling in the dark (it does happen!) They may have dogs with them. There is no guarantee they will be using torches so participants need to be aware.

Deer:
Knole is an historic deer park with a resident herd dating back centuries.
It is likely there will be large groups of deer resting on the ground around the park, or feeding.
Deer will usually move/run away from humans but there is always the possibility of deer being startled by one runner and running towards another runner.
Participants should be aware of deer both stationary and mobile and be prepared to avoid them.

Ticks & Lyme Disease:
Ticks are common in areas where we go orienteering, more information about ticks is available here: Ticks and Lyme Disease

Safety Bearing:
West to the perimeter fence or the main north-south valley then north or south to the finish.

Conduct
You must adhere to the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.

Medical conditions
Competitors take part at their own risk. If you have an existing Medical Condition of which the Organisers should be aware, please complete a Medical Form which can be downloaded from the Event Details on the Saxons website and hand to the Organiser in a sealed envelope. This can be collected once you have downloaded, or will be destroyed at the end of the event.

Results & Prize-Giving
Results will be on display at the event. Split prints available. Final results will be posted to Saxons website after the event.

Medals will be awarded after courses close, at the Event Centre on the 2nd floor of the multi-storey car park.
