Brutal - Pippingford Park

Saturday 17th April

Basically it's amazing and probably the wettest Brutal route ever!
Pippingford Park is a privately owned estate in East Sussex in the middle of The Ashdown Forest. The estate is used by the army, mountain bike events, OCR events and is perfectly suited for a tough Brutal.
The start of the 5km loop is in an elevated position overlooking the estate and the Ashdown forest beyond. From the start there is a slight climb before descending through a steep sided valley with river crossing and muddy climbs. The route then leaves this valley and climbs again into a short section of old quarry. The first 3 km of the route is in beautiful mature trees with frequent small challenges like ponds and short sharp climbs, just to keep things super interesting.
Like all of our routes we leave the best till last. From 3km onwards the hills and water are relentless making this a Brutal classic. In the last 1km alone there are over 9 great water features to be crossed that are all on an uphill climb, doesn't sound possible? You better come and have a look for yourselves!

This will be our first event since Feb 2020 after our April event was postponed due to the restrictions. After much discussion we decided we should not waste all the medals we had for that event so will be issuing these at this first event back. This will mean that they have the 2020 date on and another venue on the ribbon. We hope you will understand the reason behind this and if you have any feedback on this idea please get in touch. After this event we will be back to 2021 medals.

Social Distancing Measures
Due to social distancing still being required at the event we will be taking various measures to ensure this. When booking your place you will be asked to select a time slot to start your run. We will communicate our full plans via email as we get closer to the event in case we have to adapt to any rule changes. In summary, if you are planning on attending please take note of anything we put in place and help us to make the event as safe as possible.

Should the event have to be cancelled/postponed due to any restrictions put in place we will allow you to transfer your entry to another event in 2021/2022. You will be able to remove yourself from the event at any point up until 1400 on the Thursday prior to the event and receive an automatic credit to your Racesignup account to use at a future Brutal event. We will not process refunds but will do everything to help you use any race credit at a future event.
