St Martha's

Saturday 24th April

Level D Event, colour coded and score
Online advance entry only. Car parking is now full up.
If you can come on foot or by bicycle you can still enter.
Dogs are permitted but please not at the Start or on your course.

Slight change of plan - specific start times have been allocated. However there will be enough slack in the system to fit in late starters with minimal delay.

Race Information

COVID-19
You must not attend if you or a member of your household has COVID-19 symptoms, if you have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace, or if you are required to quarantine having been on holiday.

Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct (revised February 2021).

Travel to the event
With highly limited car park space you are encouraged to travel by other means. There is a station at Chilworth, a 1.5 mile walk away. Trains arrive there at 9:07 and 11:23 from Guildford (10 minute ride), or at 9:37 and 11:37 from the other direction (Dorking and beyond).

If you are walking you can come to either car park and follow taped route to the Start. If you are cycling the same is true, but the East car park (see below for location) is recommended as there will be more activity there and overseeing of locked bikes than at the West car park.

Car Parking
Please don't arrive before 9:30

If you have booked a car park space it will show in the Start List which car park you have been allocated to. The East car park is on Guildford Lane (gridref TQ035485, w3w ///noises.local.crab); the West car park is on Halfpenny Lane (gridref TQ022484, w3w ///scan.rails.online). The car parks are equidistant from the Start but the Finish and Download are by the East car park (1400 metres back to West car park).

The parking area will be tight; please stick to your booked time and leave promptly (morning parking) or you risk getting blocked in by the 12pm shift!

You should go straight to the Start but please don't arrive too early before your start time as we have to maintain a socially distanced queue. If you are hiring a dibber it will be waiting for you at the Start.

Timing
Entrants select 1-hour start blocks. You will be allocated a Start time within the period that you have requested.

Please arrive at the event in your orienteering kit, and where possible travel home to change. If you arrive early at the start or are accompanying juniors to the start, please observe the rule of 6 and apply appropriate social distancing.

The start is a 700 metre taped walk from the parking area. You should stay in your car until 20 minutes before your start time. Hired dibbers will be given out at the Start.

During your run
At the start and during your run please remember to maintain social distancing. Please move promptly away from the start and each control. At control sites avoid touching the control, move through quickly. Above all be extremely considerate to the non-orienteering public.
Event is SIAC enabled but no SIAC hire available.

After your run
Do not congregate at the Finish. Download promptly and leave as soon as you reasonably can. Afternoon parkers: need not move your car out of the event part of the car park if you are staying for other activities BUT PLEASE leave some indication visible on the dashboard so we know you have finished (eg printed splits results slip).

Results
Results will not be on display at the event. Final results will be on Guildford Orienteers website after the event.

Medical conditions
Competitors take part at their own risk. If you have an existing Medical Condition of which the Organisers should be aware, please complete a Medical Form which can be downloaded from the British Orienteering website and hand in at Download/Enquiries (or the car park official in the West car park) in a sealed envelope marked with your name and "Confidential Medical Form for GO event only". This will be opened only if you require medical treatment and are not conscious. It will be destroyed at the end of the event.

Refund Policy
This event is currently permitted under the BOF Covid-19 guidance. If for some reason this changes we will do our utmost to postpone to a date within the following weeks; if you inform us that you are unable to attend on that date you will get a credit for the full value you have paid against a future GO event, or you can request a refund. If we cannot hold the event on a postponed date and we have to cancel you will also get a credit for the full value you have paid against a future GO event, or you can request a refund.
