Map
The map is included in the entry fee and the scale is 1:5000 scale with 5m contours. Several fences have been overprinted with thick purple lines on the map. This means that they should not be climbed. Please use the gates instead. The YELLOW course has a short taped route straight after the road crossing.

The staff at RVCP have been busy since the map was last updated in January 2018! This means that there have been a number of changes on the ground that aren't on the map (e.g. a new fairy garden, a seating area around the chapel, new huts for parking meters, some distinctive features/trees now gone). Courses are planned to avoid the worst affected areas to minimise the impact on navigation.
The entry fee also includes the cost of hiring an electronic timer. A fee is applicable if the timer is lost.

Entry
Online entry only. Entry on the day via racesignup.co.uk subject to map availability.

If you wish to compete as a group, only one entry is needed.

Terrain
Royal Victoria Country Park consists of a mixture of open parkland and deciduous woodland with a dense path network. Parts of the woodland are very runnable, other parts have some undergrowth and/or holly. Full leg cover is recommended. Small paths can be indistinct, particularly in the area around the start. The area is mostly flat although longer courses may encounter some steeper slopes which can be slippery. There are some excellent views across the River Itchen and out towards the Solent from much of the open parkland.

Royal Victoria Country Park has a rich history and was previously home to a large military hospital for almost 100 years. Do check out the exhibits around the park and in the chapel if you want to learn more!
