Delightful ancient woodland consisting of oak, birch, rowan & beech. Runnability varies from very good to areas with heather, bracken and bilberry which may impede progress. Oldbury Hill has numerous earth features and earth ramparts built 500-100BC and was one of the finest forts in the Medway region.

Online advance registration only. Starts 11.00-12.30. Courses Close 2.30pm.

Whilst entries are open to 28th May, if you plan to come, please try to enter by 22nd May to help us forecast required map numbers!

Blue, Green and Score courses cross the busy A25 twice, via timed out road crossing points. There will be a two minute allowance for each crossing so there is no need to rush.

Contactless electronic timing enabled for the event, (SIAC), although a basic timing dibber can also be used, (basic timing devices provided free of charge if you don't have one). Punching Start & Finish.

Download back at the car parking. Please remember to download before leaving.

Compete on your own or as a group. Groups wishing to go around a course together are recommended to enter Score, Orange or Yellow courses - select group entry and provide other team members details in the field provided, (only team leader needs to enter).

Basic non-SIAC dibber (electronic timing device) available for hire free of charge. SIAC dibbers available for hire for £1.50.
Event Information

You must not attend if you or a member of your household has COVID-19 symptoms, if you have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace, or if you are required to quarantine having been on holiday.

If you need to withdraw prior to the event, you will automatically receive a credit note for use against future Saxon events.

Newcomers and Beginners
If you are new to Orienteering and would like some additional help before attending an event, please check the appropriate box on the entry form and the event organiser will be in touch. There are also some helpful youtube introductory videos to watch. One by a nearby London club Newcomer Guide and another from a Manchester based club Getting Started

Timing
You should make every reasonable effort to arrive at the event in time for your allocated start time or start window, including allowing extra time to travel to the venue where necessary.

Conduct
You must adhere to the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.

Given ongoing COVID concerns, please practice good hygiene. Please be thoughtful about social engagement and be mindful of other peoples preferences for social distancing.

During your run
At the start and during your run please be mindful of other participants. Please move away from the map box after collecting your map and try to avoid touching the controls on the course, moving through quickly and not stopping at a control to examine your map. Please get your breath back and recover before moving to download.

Medical conditions
Competitors take part at their own risk. If you have an existing Medical Condition of which the Organisers should be aware, please complete a Medical Form which can be downloaded from the Event Details on the Saxons website and hand to the Organiser in a sealed envelope. This can be collected once you have downloaded, or will be destroyed at the end of the event.

Results
Results will not be on display at the event. Split prints available. Final results can be accessed on Saxons website after the event.
