Sunday 27th November

Saxons 50th Anniversary National Event. Hindleap Warren is a mixture of open heathland and woodland, with some complex contour detail.

Make a weekend of it and enter the Southern Nights Championships next door at Broadstone Warren on the Saturday evening.
Online advance registration only. Start between 10.30-12.30pm. Full range of South East League courses including courses suitable for novices will be available. Courses Close at 2.30pm.

Groups can be accommodated on the White, Yellow, Orange and Score Courses. If you wish to compete as a group, you should select group entry and provide other team members details in the field provided, (only team leader needs to enter).

The local Scouts will be running a food stand.
Burgers, hot dogs, bacon roles, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, soft drinks and cake/biscuits will be on sale. Please support them as they are raising funds for improvements to their Scout hut. Cash and Card accepted.

Course distances and climb subject to final controlling. South East League age classes shown in brackets against the different colour courses - you are free to select a shorter or longer course if preferred. Beginner / novice courses correspond to the Orange, Yellow, White and Score courses.

Event Information

You must not attend if you or a member of your household has COVID-19 symptoms, if you have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace, or if you are required to quarantine having been on holiday.

If you need to withdraw prior to the event, you will automatically receive a credit note for use against future Saxon events.

Parking
Parking will be at both the Hindleap Warren Outdoor Education Centre (RH18 5JH), and a separately accessed but adjacent hardstanding area being made available by the Conservators.

Competitors approaching from Wych Cross should plan to use the Conservators Parking - what3words///diplomat.gilding.dabbling. Competitors from the West should plan to use the Outdoor Education Centre. Entrance off Hindleap Lane at what3words///stunt.built.continued.

Parking is limited, so please car share if possible - there is a new feature on the racesignup entry page which can help match drivers and passengers.

Newcomers and Beginners
If you are new to Orienteering and would like some additional help before attending an event, please check the appropriate box on the entry form and the event organiser will be in touch. There are also some helpful youtube introductory videos to watch. One by a nearby London club Newcomer Guide and another from a Manchester based club Getting Started

Timing, Start/Finish and Race Information
Contactless electronic timing enabled for the event, (SIAC), although a basic timing dibber can also be used, (basic timing devices provided free of charge if you don't have one). Punching Start & Finish.

Two Starts and one Finish:
Start 1 (for novice and shorter courses) and the Finish for all courses will be close to the Assembly Area at the Hindleap Activity Centre.
Start 2 (for Green to Black) will be a 500m walk from the Activity Centre and will cross a busy road.

Please note Green through to Black courses contain two timed out road crossings, one of which will be marshalled.

You should make every reasonable effort to arrive at the event in time for your allocated start time or start window, including allowing extra time to travel to the venue where necessary.

Conduct
You must adhere to the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.

Medical conditions
Competitors take part at their own risk. If you have an existing Medical Condition of which the Organisers should be aware, please complete a Medical Form which can be downloaded from the Event Details on the Saxons website and hand to the Organiser in a sealed envelope. This can be collected once you have downloaded, or will be destroyed at the end of the event.

Results
Results will not be on display at the event. Split prints available. Live Updates may be available online during the event, and final results will be posted to Saxons website after the event.
