Location and parking
The event centre will be at The Rising Sun, 27 Spring Lane, Colden Common, Winchester, SO21 1SB.

There will be a quiz night in the pub during the evening, so please consider parking in the car park adjacent to the Community Centre located off St Vigor Way, Colden Common, SO21 1UU. Grid Ref: SU477222. What3Words: ///digit.path.giant

Travel
Please car share wherever possible. You can sign up to the Car Sharing scheme - login to the event on Racesignup to join.

Facilities
Toilets in pub. It’s quiz night in the pub so we advise booking if you require food.

Timing
Registration: 17:45 to 18:45
Starts (turn up and go): 18:00 to 18:50
Course closes promptly at 20:00

Safety
All competitors must wear hi-viz tops & have sufficient lights to complete their course. Please take care when crossing any road - particularly on the busy roads to the South and East of the area which are marked on the map in a darker colour. All juniors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Risk
Orienteering is an adventure sport; you are responsible for your own safety at the event and must not do anything that puts yourself or others at unnecessary risk.

Timing System
EMIT touch free. Cost of eTag hire is included in the entry fee. Lost eTags will be charged at £45

Map/Terrain
1:5000 on A3 waterproof paper, 2.5m contours. Mainly housing estates with some parkland and very small wooded areas. Some paths are tarmac but others may be muddy and slippery when wet.

Course
One hour score event with maximum 500 points. Control descriptions and points will be printed on the map, with controls worth 10, 20, 30 or 50 points. Punching start adjacent to the pub - collect eTag from the pub and go. The course uses touch free EMIT. Everyone must report to Download in the pub afterwards.

Social Distancing
COVID has still not gone away. Please respect anyone's wish for Social Distancing

Conduct
Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct (revised August 2021).

Dogs
Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.

Results
The results will be posted on the SOC website as soon as possible after the event.
