Event Information

Covid-19
Whilst restrictions have been lifted, Covid-19 is very much still in circulation and we encourage a continued responsible approach to orienteering events. People have different risk tolerances and we like to be mindful of, and to respect, others' personal choices as normality returns.
Please do not attend if you or a member of your household has Covid-19 symptoms, if you have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace, or if you are required to quarantine having been on holiday.

Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct (revised August 2021).

Travel to the event
The event centre is at Newlands Corner car park (free parking)W3W ///manual.money.moss (post code GU4 8SE) where you can park your car. Other modes of transport are possible - cycle, train, bus. There are 2 railway stations in Guildford: the mainline station it is 3.7 miles away; London Road station only 3 miles. Bus number 1 runs every half an hour from Guildford's Friary bus station, and stops at High Path Road near Merrow Downs. From there it is a 2 mile walk/jog to Newlands Corner through the woods. Use cycle.travel journey planner to plan your route by bike (note Newlands Corner is at the top of a hill!). The bike racks have been temporarily removed during construction work but you can leave your bike by the enquiries tent and we'll keep an eye on it.

Toilets
There are public toilets at Newlands Corner.

Dogs
Only well-behaved dogs please! On a lead around the car park and at Start.

During your run
At the Start and during your run please respect each others' personal space ('social distancing'). Above all be extremely considerate to the non-orienteering public.

After your run
Don't forget to download promptly. Results will not be on display at the event and will be published on the Guildford Orienteers website after the event.

Medical conditions
Competitors take part at their own risk. If you have an existing Medical Condition of which the Organisers should be aware, please complete a Medical Form which can be downloaded from the British Orienteering website and hand in at Download/Enquiries in a sealed envelope marked with your name and "Confidential Medical Form for GO event 18/12/21 only". This will be opened only if you require medical treatment and are not conscious. It will be destroyed at the end of the event.

Refund Policy
Until the 16th December, if you withdraw your entry you will get an automatic credit (in your Racesignup account) for the full value of your entry fee. If you request a refund we deduct the card processing fee.

To withdraw your entry after 16 December, please contact the Organiser. We may need to deduct some costs already incurred.

This event is currently permitted under the BOF Covid-19 guidance. If for some reason this changes we will do our utmost to postpone to a date within the following weeks; if you inform us that you are unable to attend on that date you will get a credit for the full value you have paid against a future GO event, or you can request a refund. If we cannot hold the event on a postponed date and we have to cancel you will also get a credit for the full value you have paid against a future GO event, or you can request a refund.
