**ENTRY ON THE DAY AVAILABLE FROM 0815 AT THE VENUE**

The event takes place on the private Holywell estate near Swanmore in the Meon Valley with all the classic Brutal elements of mud, water and hills! The best feature of this event is the part of the course where you take on a section of the River Meon.

This year we have a new 4 hour format offering the chance to run solo, as a pair or in a team of 4. There will also be the option for kid's to run a single lap of the course. You can run just a couple of laps if you wish or for the whole 4 hours - the choice is yours!

The Format

The course loop will be somewhere in the region of 4km. The challenge is to complete as many laps as you can within 4 hours. You can do this either on your own, as a pair or a team of 3 or 4. The pairs and teams will hand over in between each lap. This event is canicross friendly.

The kids option will allow them to run a single lap at any point during the 4 hours. They can either run by themselves or with an adult taking part themselves. Anyone under 11 MUST be accompanied by an adult throughout the course.

On site catering with hot and cold food from Continental Catering, ice creams from Chipperfield's CC Ices and beer from Steam Town Brew.

Location

Holywell Challenge
This is a multi lap format. The course lap will be around 4km in length. Complete as many as you can within 4 hours on your own, as a pair or a team of 4!

The Course

The start and finish are on a slope in front of Holywell House, a beautiful setting in the Meon Valley. Don't be deceived though, this loop packs a real Brutal tough running punch! From the start there is a fast run out through paddocks and into the forest. Within 400m the route gets narrow and muddy and passes through the wonderfully named Dirty Copse. There are some old, quarried areas and ponds followed by some short sharp hills. Towards the end of the loop the fun really starts with a series of long wades in up to waist-deep water through the River Meon. This goes on for almost 400m, and most of the distance will be spent getting pretty damp! Once out of the river you might think that is it, but no! There is one last glorious feature to get through. We don't want to ruin the surprise if we can help it, but let's say the river is clean and fresh-smelling but that this is definitely not. The last 300m are uphill, ascending a wonderful avenue of trees.
