Timing System
This event will use the MapRun mobile app for “control punching”, scoring and results.
MapRun is a form of orienteering where you use an app to record whether you have successfully navigated your way around a course and your times. There will be physical control flags, but you will also receive positive confirmation from the app that you are in the right place. Please see the MapRun website Click here for further information for more info. The latest app is MapRun which is available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. If you have a modern Garmin watch, you can also get MapRunG installed on it.
Map
Scale 1:5,000, 5m contours, selected revisions in late 2022.
Control descriptions will be printed on the map. The Yellow course has text control descriptions. All other courses have IOF control descriptions.
Terrain and Out of Bounds
Terrain is generally runnable forest with forest paths and rides.
The score event includes some controls in the urban area.
Results
The results will be posted on the SOC website as soon as possible after the event.
