Lloyd Park GLOSS event

Sunday 25th June

Dartford Orienteers invite you to an event in the Greater London Orienteering in the Summer Season (GLOSS) series in this attractive park setting in south London. A mixture of open parkland and forested areas. For newcomers, guidance on what to do will be provided both in advance and on the day.

We have a few maps left for both courses so entries will be possible until all maps are taken. Late entries are only possible via racesignup.co.uk and we suggest you enter before leaving home as this will guarantee there being a map for you and it is also easier to enter with WiFi on a computer or tablet than on a phone.
Registration online only in advance. Start Times: 10:30 to 12:00
Contact: andrew.evans444@btinternet.com

Event Information

We invite you to enter our GLOSS event in Lloyd Park .

Getting to the event
The event is easily accessed using public transport. The Croydon Tramlink goes from East Croydon station and places further west every 15 minutes to the Lloyd Park tram stop, less than 50m from the event centre.

Car Parking will be in the main car park off Coombe Road What3Words: title.noise.ideal but this only holds 40 vehicles. It is free of charge for up to 3hrs but you need to obtain and display a parking ticket. If the car park is full, there are spaces available in nearby residential streets. Please be considerate of local residents when you park.

Safety
You must not attend if you or a member of your household has COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19.

You must adhere to the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.

Event centre
Event centre will be near to the car park. Look for the tall dark blue sail banner.

Toilets are available at the event and there is a cafe serving a range of hot and cold food and drinks.

There will be a first aid kit at the event for largely self-use and a first aid trained club member in attendance.

Map
The map is 1:5,000 drawn to ISSOM standards and is printed on waterproof paper.

Start and finish
The start and finish are both close to the event centre/car park

Light Green Course
The GLOSS course map is double-sided with the GLOSS course on one side and the extension on the reverse.

When you finish the GLOSS course, visit control 90 if you wish to do the extension and continue your run without stopping. Only punch the adjacent finish control when you have done the extension or if you are not wanting to do the extension when you finish your GLOSS run.

Electronic punching
Contactless punching will be facilitated but it is a Punching Start and Finish.

Control descriptions
Control descriptions are printed on the map and loose control descriptions will be available in the start lanes.

Results
Results will not be on display at the event but you can access live results on the DFOK website during and after the event www.dfok.co.uk. We hope to be able to provide a QR code which can be accessed by your mobile phone for speedy access to these.
