Northern Navigators invite you to the annual October Odyssey - 2 days of quality orienteering combining a Saturday urban event on the outskirts of Durham City, followed by a classic distance event on the Sunday in the Durham Dales.

Junior participation on Day 1: for safety reasons in an urban environment, under 16s on the day of the competition may only compete on either the Yellow or Light Green course. In addition, under 11s must be shadowed by a responsible adult.

If you wish to be considered for the North East Championships on Day 2, you must run in your age class. If you are running up, please let the organiser know which course you wish to be considered for.

Event Information

Walk to start on Day 2
Please note, there is a 2km walk to and from the main start/finish which rises steeply in the last km to access the moor. The White and Yellow courses are not affected as they have a separate start and finish (600m walk and courses located in the forest)

Parking for Day 2
A number plate recognition system is in operation in Hamsterley Forest. Parking is covered in part by the entry fee but you must ensure you collect a code from download on the day and obtain a ticket at the machine near the Visitor's Centre before leaving. You will need to input your registration number - this will then register your car for free parking.
