A friendly bit of autumnal fun

Online entry here on Racesignup is available up until the last start on the day of the event (subject to the availability of pre-printed maps for each course).

SIAC will be enabled for the event, but only normal SI dibbers available to hire. Start times are from 10:00 - 11:45.

There will also be entry on the day (Cash Only) at the event for any courses still having maps available (pre-printed numbers are necessarily limited).

Courses

Yellow 1.7km 60m climb
Entered: 0 of 10
Easy; controls on or near paths; aimed at beginners.
Recommended if it's your first event as a family with children under 10.

Orange 2.2km 100m climb
Entered: 0 of 10
A little more technical than Yellow; controls just off paths with some route choice.
Recommended if it's your first event as a family with children over 10.

Short Green 3.0km 140m climb
Entered: 0 of 25
Technical, for experienced orienteers.

Short Blue 4.3km 225m climb
Entered: 0 of 35
Technical, for experienced orienteers.

Senior: £7, Junior: £4
SI dibber hire: £1

Note that each entry includes one map and a single dibber download. You can buy an additional map (eg for shadowing or if a pair are running the course together and would like a map each) at the event on the day if there are any spare maps available.
Event Information
Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct (revised August 2021).
Car Parking
There is no managed parking.

It should be possible to find parking in Guildford that is within a short walk of the event, without upsetting local residents (please park sensitively). Clifford Manor Road, Tilehouse Road and Chantry View Road are the nearest such opportunities. The Millbrook Car Park, A281, Guildford GU1 3XJ and the Castle Car Park, Sydenham Rd, Guildford GU1 3RW are also within a mile.
Toilets
There are no toilets at the event.
To Assembly area and the Start
The assembly, start, finish and download are all near the event centre.

Note start times are not hard and fast - simply there to make sure that there isn't too much congestion at the Start. In practice you can start at any time.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome
Please keep them on a lead in the assembly/start/finish areas.
SI Punching
While contactless SIAC dibbers are enabled for all controls, the Start and the Finish must be punched/dibbed (cannot be waved).
Medical conditions
Competitors take part at their own risk. If you have an existing Medical Condition of which the Organisers should be aware, please complete a Medical Form which can be downloaded from the British Orienteering website and hand in at Download/Enquiries in a sealed envelope marked with your name and "Confidential Medical Form for GO event 24/09/23 only". This will be opened only if you require medical treatment and are not conscious. It will be destroyed at the end of the event.
