Event Information

Car Parking
Car parking will be at the Vale Community Campus SN9 5EW
(W3W: bonnet.eggshell.harder). GR SU159601. Pewsey Station (on the Paddington- Plymouth line) is about 10 minutes walk from the Community Campus

Map/Terrain
A new map (by Mike Hampton 2023) 1:4000
Terrain: A mixture of urban and playing fields
All senior courses will have pictorial descriptions printed on the map; Courses 6-8 will have text descriptions.
Loose control descriptions on waterproof paper will be available at the Start
The A345 ( Swindon - Salisbury road) runs through the Village, so care needs to be taken crossing this road. Cars go fast particularly on entering the Village from either end and under the railway line ( the road under this Bridge is out of bounds for safety reasons).

Safety
Hi-viz vests or bright tops are requested, please, so you can be seen;
There are some advisory road crossings in the Town area - please observe the OOB signs on the roads on the map. There are several blind bends on the main road , please take care crossing near these.
Junior safety: All U16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

Times
Assembly opens from 12.00pm - hired dibbers can be found by Download in the Community Campus building.;
Start times: 12.30pm - 1.30pm
Juniors - Adults shadowing Juniors need to complete their own run first to remain competitive
Courses close at 3.30pm

Facilities
Toilets are available in the Campus building; Showers are available for a small cost.
Please bring your own water ; no refreshments in site - the COOP will be open in the Village until 4pm - about 15 mins walk away.

Conduct
Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.

Dogs
Dogs are not allowed on the courses at all nor in the Campus building.

Timing System
SIAC enabled controls will be attached to features by gripples;
SI dibbers are available for hire £1.50 - they will not be SIAC enabled. Lost dibbers - cost £65.00
(If a control doesn't work, use the attached punch to punch the side of your map)
Hired dibbers can be collected from Download

Finish and Download
Please report to Download even if you don't finish your course.

Results
Results will be available on the Sarum website as soon as possible after the event, hopefully by Sunday evening.

Risk
Orienteering is an adventure sport; you are responsible for your own safety at the event and must not do anything that puts yourself or others at unnecessary risk.
