Event centre
The event centre is at Lodge Farm, Lodge Lane, Cobham accessible from the mini roundtable with the war memorial to the east of Cobham Village. Easy access from the A2 from the same exit as for Shorne Woods Country Park.

Parking space at the farm is limited so cars will be parked close together. The event centre is close to our parking.

Please follow the red and white taped route from the parking area to the Start and from the Finish, both of which are about 750m from the event centre (allow 10 minutes).

There are no toilets or refreshments at the event centre but there are toilets and refreshments available at Shorne Woods Country Park. Parking for up to 15 mins is not charged but if you want to exceed this time, you will need to buy a parking ticket; automatic numbers plate recognition is in use. If you decide to buy a ticket, it is £3 and valid all day. Entry and exit is permitted so you will be able to return for refreshments, the use of the playground and everything else Shorne has to offer after your run.

The woods
The woods are mainly deciduous forest with some great views.

There's plenty of open and semi open areas with scattered trees which are covered in bracken in the Summer which will still be died down in mid to late April.

A herd of about 25 highland cattle roam Cobham Great Wood. These attractive animals create routes through the bracken. Although they are docile, keep a wide berth when near to them to avoid frightening them.

Some of the majestic trees have fallen during storms and high winds over the years. In Cobham Great Wood. They are left on the ground to provide nutrition for a variety of creatures. Several different species of bats can be seen at dusk in this area.

50 new trees have recently been planted and protected from the deer and cattle by a small wooden fenced enclosure. These fenced enclosures and the small trees whithin them have not been mapped.

Electronic punching
Electronic punching will be used and the controls will be activated for contactless punching for anyone with a contactless SI dibber.

Hired dibbers will be in individual envelopes for collection at Enquiries.

Everyone must punch at the start and finish as these are not set up for contactless recording.

Control descriptions
Control descriptions are printed on the map. For those who prefer to also have loose control descriptions to save opening and refolding the map, these will be available at the start.

Finish and Download
After finishing, please proceed directly to Download. Your splits print out will be handed to you. Hired SI dibbers should then be deposited in a pink container nearby.

Results will not be on display at the event but we hope to be providing a QR code link to live results at the event. They will also be on the DFOK website www.dfok.co.uk after the event.

Refund policy
If you have entered but are unable to attend the event, if you contact the Organiser by email no later than 9pm on the day before the event, a full credit for a future DFOK event will be given or a refund of your entry fee minus the small entry system provider charges.

Acknowledgements
We are grateful to National Trust and West Kent Downs Countryside Trust for permission to use the area and Jim Jackson at Lodge Farm for our parking and event centre.
