Event Information

Location, travel and parking
We are using a different gate to enter the forest, after permission was refused by another landowner to use the closest gate. Please navigate instead to: https://what3words.com/comic.impulsive.twists / https://maps.app.goo.gl/VA6HFNNDEuCfyVGd9
The route to the event car park is along a long forest track which intersects with the orienteering courses in several places. Forestry England reminds drivers to watch out for uneven areas and the 15mph speed limit.
Please be aware that there may be orienteers running across the track as well as other forest users.

PARKING

The event car park is very small and the access track has restricted width. Please share cars wherever possible to reduce traffic in the forest. If the car park is full, you may be directed by a marshal to other parking in the area. This will mean you will have to navigate to the event centre/car park without the aid of streamers.

The map below shows the location of the event car park (blue circle) which is close to the start and finish, the forest gate (black circle) and four public car parks at the top of Pitt Down. This will help you to navigate to the event centre on your own if necessary.

Timing
ARRIVAL/LEAVING TIMES

Due to the restricted width of the forest track and to keep competitors safe, please arrive before 10:45. We will not be able to let cars down the track after this time, although you may be able to use other car parks in the area.

We will not be able to let cars leave before all of the yellow course competitors have finished, hopefully by 12:00.

YELLOW COURSE COMPETITORS

The yellow course will start at 11:00 when there are no cars on the forest track. We will expect yellow course competitors to return by 12:00 in order to allow cars to leave the event centre.

Other course start and finish times are unchanged.
