Claro welcome you to Harlow Hill and Birk Crag for a YHOA regional event.
Harlow Hill is an area of mixed woodland with a good path and track network . This event will also use the recently remapped area of Birk Crag which offers a more technical challenge for the longer courses.
We will be based at the new GirlGuiding Birk Crag Centre off Cornwall Road where we will offer indoor facilities, toilets and refreshments.
Pre-entries preferred by Sunday 9 November 2025 to guarantee a map on your chosen course.
Late entries, subject to map availability, at a supplement up to Thurs 13 November 2025

White
An easy course using paths. Suitable for juniors, younger beginners and novice families.
Yellow
An easy course using paths and other linear features such as fences. Suitable for more confident juniors and families.
Orange
A moderate - easy course with some controls away from linear features (eg off a path but within the forest). Suitable for confident juniors and adult beginners.
Red
A moderate to easy course with some controls off paths. Suitable for adult beginners who prefer a longer run.
Short Green
Navigationally challenging but less physically demanding with less distance and climb. Suitable for experienced orienteers.
Green
Navigationally challenging and increasing in physical difficulty. For experienced orienteers.
Blue
Navigationally challenging and increasing in physical difficulty. For experienced orienteers.

Juniors are under 25 on 31st December. Full-time students qualify for the junior fees. Check the box on the entry form.
Family Fee - second and subsequent juniors in a household run free. Use the discount code family-junior for your second and subsequent household junior entries to qualify. Please note that at this event this applies to households only living at the same address. It will not apply to school groups.
If hiring a dibber a fee of £30 will be charged for lost dibbers.

These will be posted on the Claro website www.claro-orienteering.org.uk. When entering our events your name may appear in the results section of this website or in newspaper reports.
Photography
In accordance with the British Orienteering Policy Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults, the organiser of this event requires that any person wishing to engage in any video, zoom or close range photography should register their details with the organiser before carrying out any such photography. The organiser reserves the right to decline entry to any person unable to meet or abide by the organiser's conditions.
