Event Information

Entry Process
To enter yourself, your soldiers or friends and family, you will need to create an account on RaceSingUp; there is a link to event just above this text.
Entries close at Midday on the Tuesday before the event. Entries can't be withdrawn or changed after then. Late entries accepted up to 8pm for an additional £1.
Once you have an account you can enter one or multiple people up to a maximum of 20. Once someone's details have been entered they can be recalled for future events. Payment is made at the end of the process with a bank card. If you need to withdraw, the fee will be credited to your "account" and can be used at future MLN-O events

Travel Directions
Nearest postcode is YO10 4JY. Parking is on estate roads and a small car park at the community centre. Entrance to car park at what3words train.rocks.guess. Reception is in the community centre.

Terrain
The event uses the housing estates either side of the river in the Clementhorpe and Nunthorpe areas as well as Rowntree Park. Rowntree park has an extensive path network, some of it seasonal and not mapped. There are other open/woodland areas besides the park area. There will be no need to cross any heavily trafficed roads.

Map
Scale 1:4,000, 2.5m interval, printed on waterproof paper. Extended and re-drawn for this event. The map is an update of the 2017 map uodated to comply with the recent IOF guidance on sprint maps and to incorporate some small changes.
The map uses the bolder symbol to indicate post locations to gripple controls to.

SI timing with units enable for SIAC touch free puching. No hire charge for dibbers. Lost dibbers charged at charged at £75.

Reception:10.30 - 14.00 hrs for Tag collection.
Starts: 11.00 - 14.30 hrs
Courses Close: 15.30 hrs. Controls will be taken in from 15.00 hrs.

There are toilets available at reception.

Civilian Participation
For civilians participating in Army orienteering, Public Liability Insurance is provided by Towergate; individuals are advised to have their own private accident insurance. This event is conducted iaw British Orienteering Rules 2019 and land booked iaw the AOA DIO Licence and JSP907.

Personal Responsibility
Orienteering in the Army is classed as individual military training. Civilian competitors are responsible for their own personal safety and for assessing their own abilities to complete the course.

The personal data you give at Registration will be used by the event organisers and their agents for the purpose of processing and publishing entries and results, conducting safety checks and as required by our insurers to validate our cover.
