Summer Saturday Series 3 - Coombe Hole
Saturday 22nd August
A varied orienteering challenge in one compact area: chalk downland and scrub at Coombe Hole, fast parkland in Connaught Park, and an urban extension through Burgoyne Heights on the Extended course. Expect steep slopes, Dover Castle as a backdrop, and wide views over the sea and western valleys. Grazing cows may be present in Coombe Hole: give them plenty of space, never run through a herd, stay calm, and drop dog leads if charged. If hot weather is forecast, carrying water will be mandatory.
Parking is at Fort Burgoyne, Fort Burgoyne Road, Guston, Dover CT15 5FN, off Dover Road. The entrance is opposite Officers View. What3Words: guard.suffice.broken. The surface is uneven, so please keep to the 5-mph speed limit and take care when walking to and from your car.

If you are new to Orienteering and would like some additional help before attending an event, please check the appropriate box on the entry form and the event organiser will be in touch. Timing, Start/Finish and Race Information
Contactless electronic timing enabled for the event, (SIAC), although a basic timing dibber can also be used, (basic timing devices provided free of charge if you don't have one). Punching Start & Finish.
Enquiries opens at 10.30 to collect hire dibbers. There will be experienced orienteers on hand to help newcomers.

Competitors take part at their own risk. If you have an existing Medical Condition of which the Organisers should be aware, please complete a Medical Form which can be downloaded from the Event Details on the Saxons website and hand to the Organiser in a sealed envelope. This can be collected once you have downloaded, or will be destroyed at the end of the event.
