Join us for a fun orienteering event at Swinley West. Beginners and families very welcome and help will be at hand at the assembly tent to get you started. No need to bring anything, but if you have a compass bring it with you.

Three courses are available: Short, Medium and Long
Short is suitable for beginners, including juniors. You can go round solo, in a pair or as a family. The course is mainly on forest paths, although controls can be just off a path on a feature in sight of the track. Controls are marked by orange and white kites. Adults entering the short course will be charged the Novice price.
On the Medium course all of the controls are in the forest off paths and you will need to navigate accurately to find them.
The Long course is intended for experienced orienteers and visits most of the forest area.

Event Information
Walk to the assembly tent in the forest following the taped route from Tesco car park, Martin's Heron (1.2 km). Free parking for 3 hours only. Please park at the west end furthest from the supermarket. The walking route goes via the footbridge in Martin's Heron railway station (on the London Waterloo to Reading line). Electronic Timing: The event uses the SI timing system. Contactless (SIAC) punching will be enabled, except for a punching Start and Finish.

Starts: 10:30 - 11:30 am
Course close at 13:30.
All participants must download by course closure time; even if you do not finish the course.
The start and finish will be close to the assembly tent, but please allow time for the 1.2 km walk from the car parking. SI/SIAC hire and download will be at assembly.
Toilets: there will be no toilets provided at the event.
Water: Please bring your own water to drink after competing. Also bring clothes to keep warm on the walk back.

Please note that smoking or vaping is not allowed at the event.
