Wessex Night League - Brockenhurst

Directions
The event centre will be at The Huntsman Pub, Brockenhurst, SO42 7RH.

Parking Options.
Brookley Road Car Park in the centre of the village, SO42 7RA. Free parking after 6pm. 0.4 miles from the pub.
On street parking around the village.
The car park at the train station has ANPR cameras and charges apply all day.
Please do not park at the pub. There aren't many spaces.

Map/Area
1:7,500 on A3 waterproof paper.
A mix of streets, tracks and footpaths within Brockenhurst village and the surrounding area. Some paths may be muddy. There are lots of cattle grids that you may be crossing.

Course
1 hour straight score event, as per Wessex Night League guidelines - competitors have 60 minutes to visit as many controls as possible, gaining points for each control visited as shown on the map.
There is a penalty of 10 points for each minute, or fraction of a minute, when finishing over an hour.
Bonus points (10 per minute under the hour) are available but only if every control has been visited.
Hired dibbers will be made available at Registration.
Controls are SIAC enabled.
The Start and Finish (same place) are 250m north of the pub in an open green area.

Conduct
Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.

Registration: 17:30 to 18:45
Starts: 18:00 to 19:00
Courses close: promptly at 20:15 please

Food available in the pub. Typical menu.
Use of the Skittle Alley in the pub.

Safety
All competitors must wear hi-viz tops and have sufficient lights to complete their course. Take care when crossing any road. The main A337 Lyndhurst to Lymington Road will not need to crossed on the course. The railway line will also not be crossed on the course.
There are many cattle grids that may be crossed. Each cattle grid has a foot gate to the side that can be passed through to avoid walking over the cattle grid.
All juniors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
