Event number 2 in the WIM/WSX Summer league 2026

WSX & WIM are running a series of summer events consisting of 6 maprun (virtual) events (each lasting one month) and 6 physical (SI control) events. This is the second physical event in the Dorset 2026 Summer League. The course for the summer series is a 60 minute straight score (no "odds and evens" or other variations) using SIAC enabled SI control stations with O kites. There will also be a Yellow linear course which is suitable for beginners.
Entries will remain open while maps are still available.

Juniors are under 21 on race day.
There is no charge for dibber hire (but £30 if you lose it!)

Entries for the League Course close midnight Sat 9th May or when all the maps are sold, if that is sooner.

There is Entry on the Day for the Yellow course only.
Event Information
Location: Potterne Park, Verwood, Dorset. BH21 6RS. Access is via the Three Legged Cross to Verwood Road.
Parking: There is ample parking beside the playing fields.
Terrain: Potterne Park is a typical grassy park with cricket and football pitches. Areas of Moors Valley are on gravel and tarmac footpaths, and some grassy areas. Verwood South is your typical housing estate areas with a 30mph road running through the area – please take care if crossing.
Starts are from 11.00-14.00. Courses close at 15.00. Help with control collection would be much appreciated.

Course and score information:
There are two courses.
• The Summer League course is a 60 minute Score course which uses Potterne Park, Verwood and the edge of Moors Valley Country Park. You gain points for each control visited but you lose 10 points per minute (or part minute) late back.
• The Yellow course, suitable for families, novices & younger juniors, is a short linear course which stays within the park.

Food & facilities: There is a cafe in Potterne Park that should be open between 08:30 and 17:00 (according to the Dorset Council website), alternatively there are food shops located in Verwood (at least a 20 min walk away).
Toilets located at the side of the pavilion, open until 6pm.
