Starts are from 11.00-13:00. Courses close at 14.00. Help with control collection would be much appreciated.
Course and score information:
There are two courses.
• The Summer League course is a 60 minute Score course with a variation on Odds and Evens as recently used by SOC in the WRNL. There will be 10 odd numbered controls each worth 20 points printed on one side of the map and 10 even numbered controls each worth 20 points printed on the other side of the map. In addition, 10 extra points will be awarded for each even numbered control punched in sequence immediately prior to the Finish i.e. if you collect the 10 odd numbered controls and then the 10 even numbered controls, you will score 500 points (200 + 200 +100 bonus). You will lose 10 points per minute (or part minute) late back.
• The Yellow course, suitable for families, novices & younger juniors, is a short linear course.
Food & facilities: the assembly area with be in the Old Radar Station compound with the start & finish adjacent to the compound. Toilets are located in the compound. The Crazy Cow operates a small mobile cafe in the compound from 10:30 - 16:30 each day serving hot & cold drinks and savoury & sweet snacks - please support this local business if you can
Safety: 1) the far western edge of the map has dangerous sea cliffs - please keep well away from edge and ensure young children are never left unaccompanied. The Yellow course stays well clear of this area 2) the lower fields contain cattle with young calves - these fields are all marked Out of Bounds but if you do happen to encounter the cattle, adopt extreme caution and give a wide berth
