This is the first time this century that Puddletown forest has been used for orienteering.

Juniors are under 21 on race day.
Hire dibbers are standard SI.
There is no charge for dibber hire (but £30 if you lose it!)

Location
Hardy’s Birthplace Visitor Centre, Thorncombe Wood Local Nature Reserve, Dorchester DT2 8QH.
Leave A35 at SY 725 929 following signs to Higher Bockhampton & Lower Bockhampton.
Enquiries/dibber hire/Download will be in the classroom unit at the Visitor Centre.

Parking
Hampton Farm Business Park, SY 723 921, on opposite side of road from Thorncombe Wood turning. Marked walk to Visitor Centre 300m.

Terrain
Part of Hardy's Egdon Heath, a mixed woodland of conifers and broadleaf trees with a good track network. Swallet holes pepper the area and it is crossed by the Roman Road that ran from Dorchester to Badbury Rings. Main forest not used for orienteering this century!

Courses
60 min Score with controls totalling 600 points, plus a novel photo control worth an extra 60 points!

Facilities
Toilets at Visitor Centre. Refreshments at café.

Mass Start
12:00. All meet at Visitor Centre by 11:45 to walk to start.
