Event Information

Directions
The event centre is the Worthies Sports & Social Club, Loader Close, Kings Worthy, Winchester, SO23 7NJ ///throw.rider.wound.

From Jnct 9 of the M3 take the A34, get in the right lane to fork right onto the A33. After 0.7 miles turn left into Lovedon Lane and then 2nd left into Loader Close, the free car park is at the end of the road, the club is at the northern end of the car park.

Map/Areas
1:5,000 on SRA3 portrait waterproof paper, 5m contours. Map recently updated in 2025. Mainly Urban but with some woods, open areas and the steep railway embankment. It is advised not to attempt to go up or down the embankment other than by mapped paths.

Courses
One hour score event, as per WNL guidelines. Straight Score event. The control number & points will be printed on the map. Loose control descriptions will be available at registration and printed on the map. N.B. All juniors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Punching start near the club, collect eTag, queue & go! Touch free EMIT will be used on all courses (hire included in entry fee). Everyone must report to download (at the club) afterwards!!

Point Scoring
There will be 30 controls numbered from 101 to 130. 101 to 117 will be 10 points, 118 to 125 will be 20 points, 126 to 128 30 points, 129 & 130 40 points. To be confirmed.

Conduct
Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.

Times
Registration: - 17:30 to 18:30 inside the club for eTag collection & Download

Starts: - 17:45 to 18:44. Close to the club.

Courses close: - promptly at 20:00 please.

Facilities
Claire from the Lazy Cow has specially opened up to supply food on the night.

This menu is the full menu but food will need to be ordered in advance and paid for in advance. The deadline for food orders is 6pm Saturday 22nd November.

The menu is available to download as a spreadsheet for you to complete as an order here. Please send your completed spreadsheet order to food@bado.org.uk.

If you cannot deal with an Excel spreadsheet to order then please email food@bado.org.uk with your order and you will be sent details on where to send the payment.

Safety
All competitors MUST wear hi-viz tops & have sufficient lights to complete their course (take a back up!). No road crossings will be manned so please take care and be responsible for your own safety. Course/Points/safety details will be available on the night.

It is advised to only use the mapped paths to go up and down from the railway embankment. The embankment contains chalk and can be very slippery.

Dogs
Dogs are allowed on the course.

Timing System
EMIT Touch-free on loan from EMIT UK.

Footwear
Mixed Terrain shoes would be recommended because of the mixed running environment. Please remove before re-entering the club.

On the Course
Its a touch free event just hover your wrist above the control and check that the eTag flashes.

Do not go anywhere near the start again after commencing your run it will clear your eTag.

Finish and Download
The Finish will be by the club.

After punching at the Finish please make your way to Download.

Results
Results will be available on the club website.

Risk
Orienteering is an adventure sport; you are responsible for your own safety at the event and must not do anything that puts yourself or others at unnecessary risk.
