Event Information
Directions
The event centre for the final event of the season is the Loddon Vale Indoor Bowling Centre, West Ham Leisure Leisure Park, Worting Road, Basingstoke, RG22 6PG. w3w ///party.types.fool. The entrance is off the B3400 the Overton to Basingstoke road.

Easiest access from the M3 Junction 6 (there are Brown Signs directing you to the Leisure Centre) but you can come from the west via M3 Junction 7.

What 3 words for entrance to Euskirchen Way: tummy.repair.vest. Note entrance is on the eastbound carriageway for cars, there is a roundabout nearby to turn around on if travelling from the East.

Basingstoke Railway Station is 1.3 miles to the East of the event centre. Stagecoach buses numbers 8, 11 and 76 all run close to the Leisure Centre.
Parking
Please park your car in Car Park 6 NOT in Car Park 7 as that is for club member use.

The car parks are clearly numbered we do not have the helpers to park you.

Presentations
The presentation of the trophies for the WNL winners for the 2025/26 season will be made as soon possible in the evening.

2024/25 season winners, please remember to bring back the trophies.
Map/Areas
1:4,000 on SRA3 portrait waterproof paper, 5m contours. A complex housing estate built around an Iron Age hill fort. Most of the running is on hard surfaces with some parkland.
Courses
One hour score event, as per WNL guidelines. Straight Score event. The control number & points will be printed on the map. Loose control descriptions will be available at registration and printed on the map. N.B. All juniors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Punching start near the club, collect eTag, queue & go! Touch free EMIT will be used on all courses (hire included in entry fee). Everyone must report to download (at the club) afterwards!!
Point Scoring
There will be 28 controls numbered from 101 to 128. 101 to 114 will be 10 points, 115 to 124 will be 20 points, 125 to 126 30 points, 127 & 128 50 points.

There is the usual 5 points bonus for every minute under 60 mins when all controls have been collected.
Conduct
Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.
Times
Registration: - 17:45 to 18:30 inside the club for eTag collection & Download
Starts: - 18:00 to 18:45. Close to the clubhouse.
Courses close: - promptly at 20:00 please.
Facilities
The club has done a menu for the night to order from, please make your choice including No Food. Food to be served after 19:30.

Food needs to be ordered in advance and paid for in advance, all meal selections are £8.25. The deadline for food orders is 11pm Sunday 1st March.

The bar will be open all evening.

There are toilets in the club but please be quiet when accessing the toilets as you pass through the bowling arena.
Safety
All competitors MUST wear hi-viz tops & have sufficient lights to complete their course (take a back up!). No road crossings will be manned so please take care and be responsible for your own safety. Course/Points/safety details will be available on the night.

The railway line can only be crossed using the 2 underpasses available.

Winklebury Way, the main road in the area, has 4 marked underpasses to optionally use for safety.
Dogs
Dogs are allowed on the course.
Timing System
EMIT Touch-free on loan from EMIT UK. Hire charge included within entry fee.
Footwear
Running shoes will be OK as there is limited off-road running. Please remove before re-entering the club.
On the Course
Its a touch free event just hover your wrist above the control and check that the eTag flashes.

Do not go anywhere near the start again after commencing your run it will clear your eTag.
Finish and Download
The Finish will be on the North West corner of the clubhouse.

After punching at the Finish please make your way inside to Download.
Results
Results will be available on the club website.
Risk
Orienteering is an adventure sport; you are responsible for your own safety at the event and must not do anything that puts yourself or others at unnecessary risk.
