Location:
Bovington Training Area (https://w3w.co/grips.along.roofer).
Parking is on hardstanding. Please park where marshalls direct you. The car park will have little to no lighting and the whole area is very dark so please ensure you have high visibility on when moving around and keep to 5mph when entering and exiting.
Timings:
Registration: 1600 - 1700 hrs
Starts: 1700 - 1900 hrs (light level dependent)
The start and finish are across a main road so please only cross when the Marshalls say it is safe.
Courses close: 2000 hrs. Controls will be taken in at 2000 hrs or when the last runner is in if earlier. Help with control collection would be much appreciated.
Course and Score information:
Mapping: Scale 1:7500. New survey and map for the event. All courses printed on waterproof paper. Control descriptions on the map and loose in the start lanes.
You have 60 minutes from the Start to Finish via as many controls as you can.
You gain points for each control visited but you lose 10 points per minute – or part minute over the hour.
Points per control may vary from 10 to 50 points at some events, so check your map and plan your route before you start.
Bonus points (10 per minute under the hour) are available but ONLY if you manage to visit every control.
Full leg and arm cover is mandatory; that means no shorts or vests.
Whistles are compulsory.
This is a military area. Please do not pick up anything as it could be ordinance and cause harm to you and those around you.
Facilities:
There will be Portaloos in the car park.
No catering is provided. If you wish eat afterwards there are a number of local eating places in Bovington and Bere Regis.
