Juniors are under 18 on 31st December.

£11 entry for BO members, plus £1 charity donation requested per car. £13 entry fee for non-BO members. Juniors £3.50.
Hired EMIT eCard - £1.50 per Senior, Free for Juniors.
After 25th October entries will re-open for late entries (subject to map availability) but at £13 for BOF members, £15 for non-BOF members and Juniors £4.50.

Directions
The event centre will be in a flat field on the eastern side of the Silchester Road between Little London & Silchester, just North of the Plough Inn. What3Words ///scorpions.missions.slyly
Due to the expectation of further rain, we ask all vehicle owners to take due care of the conditions so as to lessen surface impact and if possible defer leaving until after Noon pls.

Map/Areas
1:10,000 A4 ISOM2017 Map, 5m contours, updated for this event.

Undulating runnable terrain, mostly ancient deciduous forest, with scattered conifer plantations. Area contains some fenced enclosures, gentle climb with a few areas of fight and a series of unimproved wetland meadows.
The northern portion is a heathland common with scattered gorse bushes.

The area is used by dog walkers and horse riders. Please be aware and courteous.

Start/Finish
Punching start. Walking Route to and from competition area involves crossing the Silchester Road.

There is a 1.2km walk to the start from assembly so allow adequate time around 20 mins. The finish is 700m from assembly. Unfortunately we are not able to supply a clothing dump.

EMIT eCards will be used on all courses. Everyone must report promptly to Download.

There will not be a drinks station. Please provide your own water.

Registration
10:00 to 12:00 for Hired eCard collection and Enquiries. No EOD.

Starts
10:30 to 12:30. Adequately spaced queue is mandatory.

There is a 1.2km walk to the start so allow adequate time around 20mins.

Note: British Summer Time ends at 2am on the 31st October. If you forget to change your clocks you will be a an hour early to the event.

Control descriptions will be available in the start lanes.

Courses close
Promptly at 14:30 please. You must report to download before you leave the event.

Facilities
Toilets. Tom's Food Wagon.

Compass Point will be attending so please take the opportunity to get any Orienteering gear that you are in need of.

Conduct
Please make yourself aware of and abide by the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.

Safety
Please register any health issues with the Enquiries/Emit team before running.

Details of the local A&E and hospitals are held at Enquiries.

Please carry a whistle during the event.

Some streams can become knee deep in heavy rain. Please be aware at stream crossings.

Safety bearing is due east to the road then south to assembly.

All competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. Please take extra care at this time in a very public location. When signing up please note the COVID rules and of course you must adhere to them on the day. If in doubt regarding your health, do not attend.

Dogs
Dogs are welcome out on the courses, but only on leads please.

Fences and OOB
There are some fences in the Forest that MUST NOT be crossed, they are double tagged on the map. Our future access permissions with HWT relies upon this instruction being strictly adhered to.

Risk
Orienteering is an adventure sport; you are responsible for your own safety at the event and must not do anything that puts yourself or others at unnecessary risk. Mission critical during COVID restrictions!
