Hogmoor Orienteering Day One

Tuesday 20th April

A chance to orienteer in a super area. Hogmoor Inclosure is the third largest nature reserve of its kind in the UK at 54 hectares of woodland and heathland.
This is a civilian event being run by EMIT-UK in lieu of the planned MLS event. The event will be run over two days to enable maximum social distancing and will use the same courses on both days. Six colour-coded courses, plus a 60 min Score course. Note those wishing to run both days can save money by buying a two-day entry and run any course on day two, even the same course they ran on day one.

Race Information

Entries online only, no cash. Always respect others & social distance even when orienteering, Arrive at the start in good time - but not too early. Download without delay and depart.

Hogmoor Inclosure Car Park with entrance off Hogmoor Road in Bordon. Exit new A325 bypass at lights onto B3002 towards Oakhanger and take first left down Hogmoor Rd.

Terrain
Area was extensively used for armoured vehicle driver training, so lots of gully’s & pits. It is a mix of woods with open sandy areas/tracks in the middle, lots of re-entrants, earthbanks & ditches plus an extensive path network. All tracks & sandy areas in the middle are runnable. Area is very technical, TD4 (even TD5 in places).

Timing
eTag Collection: 09:45 - 15:15. Queue up (2m apart) to get issued an eTag. Loose control descriptions are at the start. If you have an eTag on long term loan you can go straight to the start.

Starts: 10:00 - 15:30. 10 starters per 10 minute window. One start lane for all courses.

Dress
Full leg and arm cover is mandatory; that means no shorts or vests. Whistles are compulsory. Available for £1 in registration queue.

Facilities
Cafe Hogmoor on site, built in the Swedish fika concept, plus separate toilet block Site has excellent kids outdoor playarea beside cafe. Dogs allowed and can be taken out on courses.

COVID-19
You must not attend this event if you have symptoms of COVID-19; or you have been asked to isolate by NHS Test and Trace, or required to self-quarantine on arrival from overseas; or you are living in a household with someone who has a possible or confirmed COVID-19 infection; or you have received a positive COVID-19 test in the previous 10 days.

You must follow the British Orienteering Participant Code of Conduct.

The Rule of Six
Please keep in mind the lawful requirement to meet the group "Rule of Six" when gathering with other competitors or volunteers.

Results
Results will not be on display at the event but you can access them online at race-results.info.
